Summary

Over the past few decades, we have witnessed structural changes, expressed in a growing and highly dominant role of the service sector at the expense of a decreasing share of industry and agriculture. How has this affected economic growth in EU countries? Is there falling productivity? Is there a typical business cycle recovery change in the industry structure during the financial and economic crisis of 2008–2009? How do these trends manifest themselves in the conditions of Bulgaria? Why does Bulgaria need economic development based on innovations, eco-technologies and the health industry? You can find answers to these questions in the book.
